Dr. Alexander Augusto de Lima Jorge is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), School of Medicine. Additionally, he serves as a Principal Investigator at the Genetic Endocrinology Unit. His expertise lies in growth disorders, and his research focuses on discovering and understanding the genetic mechanisms involved in growth and development disorders.

Dr. Alexis Kalergis

Dr. Alexis Kalergis is a Full Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, with a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He has led groundbreaking research in immunology, receiving accolades such as the Avonni National Innovation Award. He currently heads the Millennium Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, known for his contributions to the development of COVID-19 vaccines in Chile.

Dr. Tiago Jeronimo Dos Santos is a pediatric endocrinologist consultant at Hospital Vithas Almería, "Instituto Hispalense de Pediatría", and Professor of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Almería, Andalusia, Spain. He holds a doctorate in Epidemiology and Public Health from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and specializes in research on type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology, and health equity. He is an active member of ESPE, SLEP, and ISPAD, where he volunteers as an Advisory Council member.

Her clinical and research focus is on hormone therapy for transgender youth. She has been providing hormone therapy and support to transgender youth for over 10 years. She is the medical co-director of CHEO’s Gender Diversity Program.

Dr. Verónica Mericq is a distinguished Full Professor at the Institute of Maternal and Child Research, Faculty of Medicine, University of Chile. Her expertise spans pediatrics and endocrinology, with a particular focus on human growth interactions with carbohydrate metabolism and insulin sensitivity. She has participated in numerous funded research trials as both a co-investigator and principal investigator. Dr. Mericq has authored 195 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has contributed seven chapters to endocrinology books. She is a member of various endocrinology and pediatrics societies and serves on the editorial board of several specialized endocrinology journals.

SLEP, the Latin American Society of Pediatric Endocrinology was founded in 1986 under the leadership of César Bergadá. The main objective of the society is to integrate pediatric endocrinologists, biochemists, pediatricians, endocrinologists or professionals from similar areas for the development of pediatric endocrinology in the broadest sense in Latin America.
